RESOLUTION ACCEPTING DEDICATION OF LOT A AND A
PORTION OF LOTS B AND C OF FINAL PARCEL MAP 13766
INTO THE CITY OF SAN JACINTO ROAD SYSTEM
WHEREAS, California Streets and Highway § 1806 (b) allows for the acceptance
of dedication into the city street system, by resolution; and
WHEREAS, Final Parcel Map 13766 was recorded with the Riverside County Clerk
and Recorder on December 13, 1978 in Book 58 of Parcel Maps at page 13; and
WHEREAS, Final Parcel Map 13766 is a three-lot parcel map at the southwest
corner of Vernon Avenue and Artesia Street; and
WHEREAS, Final Parcel Map 13766 dedicated Lots A through D for street and
public utility purposes; and
WHEREAS, the City of San Jacinto desires to widen Artesia Street within the area
shown as Lot A on said Parcel Map 13766; and
WHEREAS, the City of San Jacinto desires to widen Vernon Avenue within a
portion of the area shown as Lots B and C on said Parcel Map 13766; and
WHEREAS, the area required to widen Vernon Avenue is the easterly 33 feet of
Lots B and C of Parcel Map 13766; and
WHEREAS, the area within Lots A, B, and C of Parcel Map 13766 have remained
unused and available for street dedication and use since Parcel Map 13766 was filed;
and
WHEREAS, the Vernon Avenue and Artesia Street widening is being implemented
through the acquisition and/or acceptance of dedication of right of way along the south
side of Artesia Street and the west side of Vernon Avenue; and
WHEREAS, the City of San Jacinto considers the acceptance of dedication of Lots
A, and the easterly 33 feet of Lots B and C as an action in the public’s best interest for
the orderly development of Artesia Street and Vernon Avenue per the City of San

Jacinto’s General Plan Circulation Element, and fulfills the intent for which the dedication
was made on Parcel Map 13766; and
WHEREAS, the City of San Jacinto is securing the right of way needs for the
widening of Vernon Avenue and Artesia Street; and
WHEREAS, acceptance of dedication of Lots A, and the easterly 33 feet of Lots B
and C are essential to the implementation of widening of Vernon Avenue and Artesia
Street;
NOW, THEREFORE IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, ORDERED, AND FOUND by the San
Jacinto City Council, State of California, as follows:
1. Accept the dedication of Lots A, and the easterly 33 feet of Lots B and C of
Final Parcel Map 13766 into the City of San Jacinto roadway system, to be
known as Artesia Street and Vernon Avenue.
2. Authorize the City Clerk to record the acceptance of dedication with the County
Clerk and Recorder per California Streets and Highway Code § 1806 (b).
PASSED, APPROVED, and ADOPTED this 5th day of July 2022 by the following vote:
