BACKGROUND: In August 1996 the City Council authorized the San Jacinto Rotary Club to conduct a bus bench advertising campaign as a Club fund raiser. The San Jacinto Rotary Club is no longer interested in continuing the advertising campaign and has agreed to allow the Hemet Rotary Club to assume the program. The existing agreement between the City and the San Jacinto Rotary Club does not include successor provisions. Therefore, in order for the Hemet Rotary Club to continue the campaign; authorization from the City Council is necessary. Should the Council authorize the Hemet Rotary Club to continue the campaign, a new agreement between the City and the . Hemet Rotary Club would be necessary. Basically, the terms of the agreement require that the Rotary Club indemnify the City and name the City as an additional insured under the Rotary Club's insurance policy. JUSTIFICATION: Provides a fund raising avenue for a civic minded non-profit organization. BUDGETARY IMPACT: None anticipated.
