Two of the seats have full terms which will expire at the end of July, 2010. The other two seats are unexpired terms ending in July 31, 2007 and 2009. According to Resolution 2305, which established the Estudillo Mansion Advisory Committee in 1998; "Members shall serve staggered four year terms of office and vacancies shall be filled by appointment by the City Council." These interviews were conducted in early July by Vice Mayor Shaw and Councilman Ritchie. The proposed appointments will be for the two terms expiring July 31, 2010, one term expiring July 31, 2009 and one term expiring July 31, 2007. Tm Ryan AGENDAITEM September 7, 2006 TO: The Honorable Mayor and Members of the City Council FROM: Barry McClellan, City Manager SUBJECT: Memorial Dedication for Richard Anthony Kroker RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends that the City Council, by motion, direct staff to plant a tree at the Francisco Estudillo Heritage Park in memory of Richard Anthony Kroker, a tireless and dedicated volunteer for the Estudillo Mansion Restoration. DISCUSSION: Councilman Ayres asked the city council to discuss honoring the late Richard Anthony Kroker, husband of one of our longest standing Estudillo Mansion Committee members, Del Kroker, who was a major advocate of the Estudillo Mansion restoration project. He dedicated numerous hours of hard work towards the restoration and maintenance of the mansion. Mr. Kroker passed away on August 20, 2006, in the community he loved, San Jacinto. During his 56 years in San Jacinto, Mr. Kroker was actively involved in the community. He served as a member of the San Jacinto Unified School Board of Education from 1965 to 1974. For 25 years, he also served as a member of the Ramona Pageant Association, working countless hours on various projects on the grounds and buildings. Staff recommends that Mr. Kroker's community service and love for historic preservation live on at a very special place he called "the mansion;" our historic Francisco Estudillo Heritage Park; a memorial tree at the mansion will honor the life, passion, and hard work of one of our finest community members, Mr. Kroker.
