Home My WebLink AboutResolution - 98-47 / RESOLUTION NO. 98-47 l A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL REPEALING RESOLUTION NO. 2097, REESTABLISHING THE FIRE STATION MITIGATION FEE AND ADOPTING THE RIVERSIDE COUNTY FIRE DEPARTMENT FEE SCHEDULE FOR PLAN CHECK AND INSPECTION SERVICES WHEREAS, on January 19, 1993 the City of San Jacinto City Council adopted Resolution No 2097 establishing a schedule of fees and charges for services that were performed by the San Jacinto Fire Department and San Jacinto Fire Marshall, and WHEREAS, the City of San Jacinto now contracts with the Riverside County Fire Department for fire protection services and WHEREAS, the Riverside County Fire Department has established a fee schedule to cover their costs to render such fire protection services; and WHEREAS, because there is a cost to the City to administer the plan check and inspection services provided by the County of Riverside Fire Department, the City has established a 15 percent handling fee to ensure that the limited number of individuals who benefit from such services are not being subsidized by the City; and WHEREAS, because new development does and will continue to adversely impact the City's ability to provide fire protection services, the City Council finds it is necessary to continue to impose fees on new residential, commercial and industrial development within the City of San Jacinto to finance the needed facilities and improvements identified by the City to protect the public health, safety and welfare of the citizens of San Jacinto; and THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that Resolution No. 2097 is hereby repealed and that the Fire Station mitigation fee is hereby reestablished as $577 per dwelling unit and $.34 per building square foot for commercial and industrial development; and IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN JACINTO that the fees and charges by the Riverside County Fire Department as set forth in Exhibit 'A" attached hereto and made a part hereof shall be assessed by the City of San Jacinto to cover the costs of the Riverside County Fire Department to provide the fire prevention services to the City of San Jacinto accompanied by a 15 percent handling fee to be maintained by the City. { ADOPTED this 3"' day of September 1998 Ayes- CouncilmenhFr� cnri,ott, (;nnd, ;4iiJ iams and Mayor Smedley Noes: Councilmcmber Cuuuer Abstair: !gone Absent: None f � r ayor Attest City Clerk EXHIBIT "A" PAGE 2 RIVERSIDE COUNTY RIVERS FIRE DEPARTMENT { 1bE....-� —�JA-MES M.
