1 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL, OF THE CITY
2 OF SAN JACINTO SUPPORTING THE CONCEPT OF A
TRANSPORTATION CORRIDOR STUDY FOR THE HEMET/SAN JACINTO/
3 WINCHESTER AREA AND TO SUPPORT THE SUBMISSION OF AN
ASSEMBLY CONCURRENT RESOLUTION THAT WOULD REQUEST
.1 SAME STUDY TO BE COMPLETED BY STATE DEPARTMENT OF
TRANSPORTATION

WHEREAS: There is a great need for additional transpor-
6 tation corridors in the Western Riverside County area, especially
within the rapidly developing Hemet/San Jacinto Valley to main-
7 tain local circulation and adequate regional access to the
remainder of the western county and to the adjacent counties of
8 Southern Calitornia, and

9 WHEREAS: The State Department of Transportation is
responsible for identifying and developing inter-regional
`.0 corridors
11 NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN
JACINTO DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:

1 . Support the concept of the State Dept . of Transportation
13 providing oversight tor, and to work cooperatively
with, the Riverside County Transportation Commission,
14 the Western Riverside Council of Governments, the
cities of Hemet and San Jacinto, and the County of
15 Riverside to conduct a study of existing and poten-
tial new transportation corridors in the Hemet/San
16 Jacinto/Winchester area generally described as
Route 60 and I-10 on the north, I-215 on the south,
17 the Ramona Expressway on the west, and the area
between Hemet and Sun City on the west.

2 . Support the submission of an Assembly Concurrent
19 Resolution authorized by Assemblyman Kelley that
would request the Department of Transportation to
24 conduct such a study.
21 3. Support that ail costs of the transportation corridor
study be funded by the Riverside County Transportation
22 Commission through the Western Riverside Council of
Governments.

4 . The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and
24 adoption of this resolution and enter it into the
book of original resolutions.
