CONFIRMING RESOLUTION 1727A AND j
:31 COMMENCING PROCEEDINGS FOR AMENDING THE SPHERE
OF INFLUENCE OF THE CITY OF SAN JACINTO,
3 INCLUDING DETACHMENT FROM THE CITY OF HEMET FOR
THE PROPERTY WITHIN ANNEXATION 61
6 WHEREAS, Government Code Section 56426 requires the
establishment of a sphere of influence for cities; and
WHEREAS, Section 56425-56427 establish procedures for
R amendments to the sphere of influence; and
q WHEREAS, portions of land in the sphere of influence
of the City of Hemet are within an area that has financial
10i impact on San Jacinto or is more associated with industry
common to San Jacinto.
WHEREAS, the City Council has previously adopted
12 Resolution 1727A commencing proceeding to amend the sphere of
influence.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED the City Council of the
14 City of San Jacinto confirms Resolution No. 1727A.
15 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED the City will commence
proceedings to amend sphere of influence including the
16 detachment from the City of Hemet for that portion within
Annexation 61 ,

RESOLUTION NO. 1727 R
1 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN
JACINTO COMMENCING PROCEEDINGS FOR AMENDING THE
SPHERE OF INFLUENCE OF THE CITY OF SAN JACINTO
INCLUDING THE DETACHMENT OF TERRITORY FROM THE
3 SPHERE OF INFLUENCE OF THE CITY OF HEMET.
4 WHEREAS, Government Code Section 56426 requires the
Establishment of a sphere of influence for cities ; and

WHEREAS, Section 56425-56427 establish procedures for
amendments to the sphere of influence; and
WHEREAS, the current sphere of influence does not effectivel
define the total area which impacts the City of San Jacinto
physically, economically and socially; and
WHEREAS, portions of land in the sphere of influence of
1� the City of Hemet are within an area that has financial impact
on San Jacinto or is more associated with industry common to
11 San Jacinto.
12 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of San Jacinto, that San Jacinto declares its intent to
submit an amendment to its sphere of influence, which includes
1, detachment from Hemet ' s sphere of influence, as outlined in
19 Exhibit A and directs the City Manager, or his representative,
to submit an application for such amendment on behalf of the
15 City.
