1 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SAN JACINTO. CALIFORNIA, SUPPORTING THE
2 LOCATING OF A FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION
AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL CENTER AT HEMET-RYAN
AIRPORT
4 WHEREAS, the Federal Aviation Administration is investigating
ithe possibility of Locating an air traffic control facility in
Southern California as a backup to the Palmdale and Ontario
facilities; and

_ WHEREAS, the "Tracon" center that is being planned is a
100, 000 square foot expandable, steel and glass structure that
requires 10 to 15 acres of land on or near an airport; and

WHEREAS, this Facility is non-polluting and does not rely
cJ on nor does it generate additional aircraft traffic; and
10 WHEREAS, the agency's criteria for locating in an area are
reasonably priced airport land, good communications, existing
11 infrastructure, affordable housing, opportunities for good
12 education at all levels and other amenities for personnel; and

WHEREAS, Hemet-Ryan Airport meets the criteria;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
14 City of San Jacinto that the City of San Jacinto would encourage
la and welcome a Tracon facility at Hemet-Ryan Airport; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT THE City of San Jacinto Will
.,r 16 cooperate with the Federal Aviation Administration and other
governmental agencies to assist in locating a Traffic Control
17 Center in Hemet.
18 ADOPTED by the San Jacinto City Council at their regular
n meeting held on the 21st day of March, 1989
