A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN JACINTO,
CALIFORNIA, CERTIFYING THE RESULTS OF THE SPECIAL RECALL ELECTION
HELD ON AUGUST 24, 1999
WHEREAS, the City of San Jacinto held a special recall election on Tuesday,
August 24, 1999, as required by law; and
WHEREAS, the Registrar of Voters for the County of Riverside canvassed the
returns of said election and has certified the results as follows; and
WHEREAS, notice of said election was duly given in time, form and manner as
provided by law; and according to the Registrar of Voters said election was in all
respects held and conducted and the votes cast thereat, received and canvassed and
the returns made and declared in time, form and manner as required by the provisions
of the Elections Code of the State of California.
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN JACINTO
DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That there were five voting precincts established for the purpose of
holding said election consis9iting of the special election precincts in
said City.
SECTION 2. That said special election was held for the purpose of determining if
two members of the City Council should be recalled and to
determine the candidates to take those seats in the event of a
successful recall.
SECTION 3. That the whole number of ballots cast in said City was 2458. The
complete precinct breakdown is shown on Exhibit "A", attached
hereto and made a part hereof.
SECTION 4. The ballot measure Shall Debbie Cornett be recalled (removed)
from the office of City Council Member, City of San Jacinto?

SECTION 5. The ballot measure Shall James L. Smedley be recalled (removed)
from the office of City Council Member, City of San Jacinto?

SECTION 7. The City Council does declare and determine that:
City Council Member Debbie Cornett was recalled and will be
succeeded in office by Jim Ayres.
City Council Member James L. Smedley was recalled and will be
succeeded in office by Chris Carlson Buydos.
