HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 99-27 RESOLUTION NO. 99- 27 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN JACINTO, CALIFORNIA, REQUESTING THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA, TO CONDUCT A SPECIAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 21, 1999 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of San Jacinto, California, calls for a Special Election to be held on Tuesday, September 21, 1999, for the purpose of determining if the voters wish to repeal the CFD #3 Public Safety Assessment; and WHEREAS, the ballot measure to be submitted shall read as follows: Shall the Public Safety assessment imposed on Community Facilities District 3 of the City of San YES Jacinto (the "District') be repealed in its entirety, and the fund balance transferred to the City General Fund, and fiscal year 1998/1999 assessment collections be discontinued and no further NO amendments made except by approval of the voters? NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN JACINTO, �•- CALIFORNIA, DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS. Section 1. That, except for those services routinely conducted by the City Clerk, delegation is hereby made to the County Elections Department of the powers and duties of the elections officer for the City of San Jacinto to conduct said election in accordance with all applicable laws and procedures. Section 2. The Board of Supervisors are hereby requested to issue instructions to the County Elections Department to take any and all steps necessary for the holding of the election. Section 3. That the City of San Jacinto, California, recognize that additional costs will be incurred by the County by reasons of this conduct of election and agrees to reimburse the County for such additional costs as previously identified by the Registrar of Voters. Section 4. That the City Clerk is hereby directed to file a certified copy of this resolution with the Board of Supervisors and the County Election Department of the County of Riverside. Section 5. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution.
