V' A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SAN JACINTO, CALIFORNIA, TO JOIN THE COACHELLA
1 VALLEY JOINT POWERS INSURANCE AUTHORITY.
21 :WHEREAS, the Coachella Valley Association of
g Governments has established the Coachella Valley .joint
.1 Powers Insurance Authority; and
51 WHEREAS, ,said Authority currently offers participation
g in a workers compensation Insurance program and is also
7 developing a liability insurance program which may be of
5 benefit to the City of San Jacinto; and
9 WHEREAS, the Coachella Valley Association of
101 Governments, hereafter called CVAG has authorized the
11 participation on Non,CVAG agencies in the Coachella Valley
12 Joint Powers Insurance Authority based on certain terms
13 and conditions; and
14 WHEREAS, the CVAG Executive Committee has authorized
15 participation of the Citv of San Jacinto in the Coachella
16 Valley Joint Powers Insurance Authority upon final approval
17 of the membership request by the Coachella Valley Joint
18' Powers Insurance Authority's Hoard of Directors and
19 compliance with the specified terms and conditions; and
20 WHEREAS, all Non CVAG regencies such as the Citv of
21 San Jacinto who are granted membership in the Coachella
22 Vallev Joint Powers Insurance Authority are assessed 51,000
23 per year in lieu of dues payable to the Coahella Valley
24 Association of Governments; and
251 WHEREAS, all Non CVAG agencies are also assessed one
')VI time buy-in fees of $1,000 for general membership in the
27�: Coahella Vallev Joint Powers Insurance Authority and 51,000
2$�' for each insurance program they may choose to participate

in; and
30 WHEREAS, the City of San Jacinto has been fully
31� advised of the required dues and buy-in fees for membership

l and hereby agrees to abide by these :erms following final
2 approval of ' their membership request by the Coachella
3 1 Valley Joint Powers Insurance Authority's Board of
4 Directors.
51 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT, the City of San
(i Jacinto dose hereby formally request membership in the
7 Coachella Valley Joint Powers Insurance Authority and that
8 the Mayor or his/her designated representatives be
yl authorized to execute the appropriate documents, _ncluding
10 the Joint Powers Agreement.
BE IT FURTHER'`RESOLVED THAT, the City of San Jacinto
121 does hereby authorize the payment of the following in lieu
13 dues and one'-time fees following final approval by the
14 Coahella Valley Joint Powers Insurance Authority of the
15 aforementioned membership"request:
16 1. $1,000 per year in lieu of dues payable to the
17 Coachella Vallev Association of Governments.
2. A one time buy-in fee of $1,000 payable to the
18 , Coachella Valley' Joint'Powers Insurance Authority
19 for general membership.
3. A one time buv-in fee of $1,000 for each
20 Insurance program the City participates in.
21 MOVED, PASSED, and ADOPTED at a regular meeting of
22 the City Council of the City of San Jacinto, held the 4th
231 day of March, 1986 by the fallowing vote:
24 ! AYES: Councilman Ford, Divine, Redding, Stevens,
and Stuart.
