RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN JACINTO,
CALIFORNIA, PROHIBITING PARKING ON STATE ROUTE 79, BETWEEN
MAIN STREET AND THE SOUTHERLY BOUNDARY OF THE CITY LI"_?ITS
AND REPEALING RESOLUTIONS 936, 1036, 1069 AND 1277.
THIS RESOLUTION IS ADOPTED WITH REFERENCE TO THE FOLLOWING
FACTS:
Traffic volume has increased on State Route 79 to a point of
saturation 'which 'impeds the safe and e_ficient flow of
traffic."
That at present the majority of State Route 79 between Main
Street and the Cities southerly boundry is designated no
parking.
That it is the recommendation of representatives from the
California Department of Transportation that a more defin-
itive delination of roadwaymakings and signing would be
possible if parking were prohibited, and which would permit
a more positive flow of traffic.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the C_ty Council of the
City of San Jacinto, in regular session, this 17th day of
September 1985 `as follows:
1 Council concurs with the finding of fact.
2. It is hereby directed that parking _shall be prohibited
along that prct_on 'of State Route 79 from Main Street
southerly to the southern most boundry of the City of
San Jacinto, city limit.
3. The Department of Transportation shall cause the app-
ropriate"markings to be placed along State Route 79
and this Resolution shall become effective upon the
"placement of such markings.
4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
Resolution and transmit a copy hereof to the Department
of Transportation for approval pursuant to the provis-
ions of Section 22506 of the California vehicle Code.
MOVED, PASSED AND ADOPTED AT A REGULAR MEETING OFISAID CITY
COUNCIL duly held the l7th day of Se tember 1�85.1
