A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY
OF SAN JACINTO CALLING FOR A SPECIAL ELECTION
TO FILL A COUNCIL VACANCY
RECITALS
WHEREAS, on December 28 , 1993, Councilmember Trammell B.
Ford submitted to the City Clerk his written resignation as
Councilmember, to be effective on January 10, 1994 ; and
WHEREAS , on January 4 , 1994 , the City Council of the City of
San Jacinto regretfully accepted the resignation of Councilmember
Ford; and
WHEREAS, Government Code Section 36512 requires that within
30 days from the commencement of the vacancy, the Council shall
fill the vacancy by appointment, or call for a special election
to fill the vacancy; and
WHEREAS, the last date upon which to appoint or call for the
special election is February 9, 1994, and that Government Code
Section 36512 requires that any special election called, be held
no sooner than 114 days from the date of the call;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council for
the City of San Jacinto, that the vacancy arising from the
resignation of Councilmember Trammell B. Ford, be filled by
special election which is hereby called to be held and
consolidated with the Statewide Primary Election scheduled on
Tuesday, June 7 , 1994.
MOVED, PASSED AND ADOPTED, this 18th day of
January , 1994 upon the following vote:
AYES: Councilmembers Leahy, Solorio, Williams , Mayor Hafliger
NOES: None
ABSTAIN: None
ABSENT: None
