A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SAN JACINTO, APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO THE
LAND USE ELEMENT OF THE SAN JACINTO GENERAL
PLAN FOR THE FIRST CYCLE OF 1994 AND INVOLVING
10.66 ACRES OF LAND IN THE VICINITY OF ESPLANADE
AVENUE AND SAN JACINTO STREET
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN JACINTO DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS
FOLLOWS;
WHEREAS, Section 65631 of the Government Code provides that no mandatory
element of a General Plan shall be amended more frequently than four times during any
calendar year, and that the City Council of the City of San Jacinto is amending the Land
Use Element of the San Jacinto General Plan for the first time during the 1994 calendar
year; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of San Jacinto held a public hearing regarding
General Plan Amendment 1-94 on May 3, 1994 and made a determination that the Land
Use Element of the San Jacinto General Plan should be amended as follows:
A. GPA 1-94 will enhance the land use balance of the City by ensuring that
there are adequate employment and service opportunities for City residents.
B. GPA 1-94 will enhance the quality of life of City residents by providing the
potential for recreational opportunities for City residents.
C. GPA 1-94 will enhance logical development of the City and provide
additional economic development opportunities in furtherance of the goals
and policies of the General Plan by designating the 10.66 acre amendment
area as Community Commercial, as designated on Exhibit "A°
4. GPA 1-94 allows for reasonable and proper use of the amendment area and
enhances the tax base of the community.
WHEREAS, advertisement for a public hearing on General Plan 1-94 was published
in accordance with Article 6, Chapter 3, Title 7, of the Government Code; and
WHEREAS, a Negative Declaration has been prepared and adopted for General
Plan Amendment 1-94 pursuant to the California Environmental Quality Act and City of
San Jacinto Resolution No. 1348, as amended.
THEREFORE, the land use element of the General Plan is hereby amended in
accordance with Exhibit "A", attached hereto incorporated herein by reference.
