A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SAN JACINTO, CALIFORNIA ESTABLISHING THE CITY
FARMING COMMITTEE
WHEREAS,the City desires to encourage farming to the maximum extent possible;
WHEREAS, farming adjacent to urban uses may, on occasion, cause complaints
from the occupants of surrounding properties;
WHEREAS, the City Controlled Farming Area boundaries were established
pursuant to Ordinance 1010;
WHEREAS, the boundaries of the Controlled Farming Area may be revised from
time to time;
WHEREAS, the resolution of complaints regarding farming and the revisions to the
Controlled Farming Area can most equitably be resolved by a group representing both
farming interests and urban interests;
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY OF SAN JACINTO CITY COUNCIL DOES HEREBY
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
1. The City Farming Committee is hereby established.
2. Said Committee shall be made up of three (3) members of the Agricultural
Advisory Committee of the Redevelopment Agency and three (3) members
of the City Preservation Committee.
3. Said Committee shall meet, as necessary, for the following purposes:
a. To consider and mediate complaints regarding farming activities.
b. To consider and provide a recommendation on proposed changes
to the boundaries of the Controlled Farming Area.
MOVED, PASSED AND ADOPTED on the 5thday of July 1995, by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmembers Leahy, Oaks , Williams , and Mayor Solorio
NOES: None
ABSTAIN: Council Seat Vacant
ABSENT: None
