A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SAN JACINTO AUTHORIZING THE PARTICIPATION
OF THE SAN JACINTO POLICE DEPARTMENT
IN THE CALIFORNIA COUNTER DRUG PROCUREMENT
PROGRAM OF FEDERAL PROPERTY.
WHEREAS, the City of San Jacinto Police Department participates in and has personnel
assigned to narcotics intervention;
WHEREAS, the City of San Jacinto Police Department has persomnel assigned to target
gang members that sell and use narcotics;
WHEREAS, the City of San Jacinto Police Department Traffic Officers profile vehicles
that are commonly used by drug dealers;
WHEREAS, the City of San Jacinto Police Department Detective Bureau targets drug
addicts who support their habit by committing burglaries within the City;
WHEREAS, the City of San Jacinto Police Department by the above definition is eligible
to participate in the California Counter-Drug Procurement Program;
WHEREAS, the City of San Jacinto Police Department ensures that any property
received under the provisions of Sections 1122 of the Defense Appropriations Act will be
properly operated, secured, and maintained;
WHEREAS, the San Jacinto City Council authorizes the San Jacinto Police Department
to procure excess equipment and supplies in accordance with the appropriate instructions and
directives furnished by the Governor's Office;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED the City Council of the City of San Jacinto
declares the San Jacinto Police Department eligible to participate in the California Counter-Drug
Procurement Program,
MOVED, PASSED, AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of said City Council on the
18th day of July . 1995, by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmembers Leahy, Oaks , Williams , Mayor Solorio
NOES: None
ABSTAINS: None
ABSENT: Council Seat Vacant
