A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SAN JACINTO, APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO THE
LAND USE ELEMENT OF THE SAN JACINTO GENERAL
PLAN FOR THE FIRST CYCLE OF 1995 AND INVOLVING
6.71 ACRES OF LAND ON THE WEST SIDE OF STATE
STREET AND NORTH OF COMMUNITY COLLEGE DRIVE
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN JACINTO DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS
FOLLOWS;
WHEREAS, Section 65631 of the Government Code provides that no mandatory
element of a General Plan shall be amended more frequently than four times during any
calendar year, and that the City Council of the City of San Jacinto is amending the Land
Use Element of the San Jacinto General Plan for the first time during the 1995 calendar
year; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of San Jacinto held a public hearing regarding
General Plan Amendment 1-95 on September 5, 1995 and made a determination that the
Land Use Element of the San Jacinto General Plan should be amended as follows:
A. GPA 1-95 designates the 6.71 acre amendment area as High Density
Residential, as designated on Exhibit "A".
B. GPA 1-95 will enhance the land use balance of the City by ensuring that
there is additional high density housing opportunities in an area that is in
close proximity to major transportation corridors, the Mount San Jacinto
College campus, and future service providers.
C. GPA 1-95 will enhance logical development of the City and provide
additional acreage for high density housing which will improve the land use
balance of the immediate area of the site and enhance the potential for
economic development opportunities in furtherance of the goals and policies
of the General Plan.
D. GPA 1-95 allows for reasonable and proper use of the amendment area and
enhances the property tax base of the community.
WHEREAS, advertisement for a public hearing on General Plan 1-95 was published
in accordance with Article 6, Chapter 3, Title 7, of the Government Code; and
WHEREAS, a Negative Declaration has been prepared and adopted for General
Plan Amendment 1-95 pursuant to the California Environmental Quality Act and City of
San Jacinto Resolution No. 1348, as amended.
THEREFORE, the land use element of the General Plan is hereby amended in
accordance with Exhibit "A", attached hereto incorporated herein by reference.
