I RESOLUTION No. 691
2 A RESOLUTION ā¯‘BJECTING TO THE DISCHARGE
OF WASTES AND POLLUTION OF WATERS IN THE
3 NORTH AND SOUTH FORKS OF THE SAN JACINTO
RIVER AND IN STRAWBERRY CREEK
4 WHEREAS the City of San Jacinto, a California municipality,
S supplies water to all of its inhabitants from wells located within
6 the limits of said city , in the San Jacinto River Basin;
7 AND WHEREAS said city has not heretofore been required
8 to chlorinate or otherwise purify or treat the water received from
9 said wells before distribution to the population of said city in
10 excess of 3,500 persons;
11 NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
12 City of San Jacinto, State of California, in adjourned regular
13 session this 14th day of June 1966 as follows:
14 1. That said Council hereby protests the discharge of
15 sewage effluent and other impurities into both forks of the San
16 Jacinto River and into its tributary, Strawberry Creek.
17 2. That this Council hereby requests the Santa Ana River
18 Basin Regional Water luality Control Board to use all caution in
19 permitting uses of the San Jacinto River Basin that will adversely
20 affect the quality of the water located within said basin.
21 3. The City Clerk is instructed to certify to the adoption
22 of this resolution and to send a certified copy hereof to the San
23 Ana River Basin Regional Water Quality Control Board, addressed at
24 3691 Main Street, Riverside, California 92501.
