3 A RESOLUTION OF 'ME CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
CF SAN JACINTO INDORSING THE METROPOLITAN WATER.
4 DISTRICT'S STAND IN OPPOSING THE INITIAL PACIFIC
SOUTHWEST WATER. PLAN AND REQUESTING MODIFICATION
5 OF SAME.

WHEREAS9 the existing study and proposed Pacific Southwest Water
8 Plan as prepared by the Secretary of Interior does not allow for ex-
tended sources of water from the Pacific Northwest, and
9
10 WHEREAS, the Department of Interior's report would jeopardise the
usage of existing Metropolitan Water District's System which has been
11 financed by the taxpayers of Southern California through their various
Water Districts, and
12
13 WHEREAS, any critical curtailment of the use of the Metropolitan
Water District's system would greatly endanger the economical develop
14 ment of Southern California, and

W EREAS, the City of San Jacinto does hereby request that other
16 agencies served by the Metropolitan Water District's system investigate
and make recommendations as to their opinion regarding the Pacific South-
17 west Water Plan.

NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that the City Council of the City
19 of San Jacinto recommends and endorses the stand of the Metropolitan
Water District of Southern California in opposition of the Pacific
20 Southwest Water Plan as presented in March of 1964, and urges that
modification of this Plan be immediately studied to enable a more
21 equitable solution utilizing the existing water distribution and
transmission facilities within the State of CalLifornia.
