RESOLUTION NO,
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN
JACINTO RE.'QUESTING THE SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA ASSOCIATION
OF GOVERNMENTS I'D INCLUDE IN ITS PROPOSED STUDY OF THE
AIR TRAFFTC NEEDS OF THE �SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA METROPOLITAN
AREA A, STUDY OF THE FEASIBILITY OF AN OFFSHORE AIRPORT.
WHEREAS the Southern California Association of Governmentev compseed of
3 pany cities and counties in Southern Californiao proposes a study of the air
4 � traffio needs of the ten—county Southern Falifornia area; and
5 1 WHEREAS the City Council of the City of son Jac.-Into is becoming In-
6 cressingly aware of the problems of noise and air p011Ution generated by
7 the use of jet aircraft at airports in Southern California; and
8 j LOHEREAS the popularity of passenger air travel has brOUght about an
o1iincreasing number of scheduled passenger flights from Ontario International I
10 Alrpnrt and the major satellite airports in the Southern California Areao

ith attendant', -surface congestion and related probler1*0 and
12 WHEREAS the Citv Louncll believes that one of the solutions to the
13) many problems inherent in increased passenger air travel may well be the
14 construct ion of an offshore airport.
15 NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Jacinto resolves
16 as follows-
17 Section 1. The City of Sari Jacinto requ2sts and urges the, Southern

23 Section 2. The CitV Clerk is directed to send a certified copy at
24 this resolution to the offices of the Southern California Association of
25 Governments,
