APPROVING AND AGREEING TO CERTAIN CHANGEI: I% THE AGREEMENT

ESTABLISHING THE SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA AS S UCIATION OF GDVERNMENTS

2 WHEREAS the Southern California Association of Governments was est b-
,) lished by agreement entered into by City and County governments within the
31' Southern 'California area pursuant to the provisions of the Joint Exercise
of Powers Act (Government Code Sections 6500 et seg. ) - and

WHEREAS in order to conform to the requirements of Chapter 972 of the
5 Statutes of the 1968 Regular Session of the California L2QiSlatUrej which
11 lamended the Joint Exercise of Powers Act, certain changes in agreement

sary and desirable;

NOW, THEREFOREv loans City Cou � of the City of San iJacinto does here-
8 by approve and agree that Section 7 of the Southern California Association
I of Governments Agreementp to which this City is a party, shall be amended
9 ' to read as follows-
10 117, Powers of Association. The Association shell have the, power,
in its own name, to make and enter into contracts, to employ
11 II agents and employees , to acquire, hold and dispose of propertyt
real and personal, to sue and be stied in its own name, and to
12 incur debts, liabilities or obligations necessary for the ac-
complishment of the purpose of this agreement. HDweverp the
13 debtsp liabilities and obligations of the Association shall
not ConStitUte any debt, liability or obligation of any of
14 the public agencies who are parties to this agreement,
1.5 The 'Treasury of the County of Los Angeles shall be the deposi-
Ii tarV of the funds of the Association and the Treasurer of the
County of Los Angeles shall he the ex officio treasurer of the
Association. The Auditor-Controller of the County of Los
Angeles shall be the disbursing officer of the Association and
shall draw warrants against the funds of the Association in
the treasury when the demands are approved by the President,
Vice-President or SecretarV-Treasurer of the Association, or
19 such other persons as may be specifically designated For that
20 purpose in the By Laws.11
and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Foregoing amendment to Section 7
21 lof the Southern California Association of Governments Agreement shall be ef-
,fective when is appr0V2d and agreed the amendment , reed to by resolution or other
22 !appropriate action of the legislative bodies of all of" the parties to the
23 bouthern California Association of Governments Agreement.
The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution and
24 shall transmit a certified copy thereof to the Executive Director of the
25 Southern California Association of Governments.
Approved and adopted this 19th day of November 19GS.
