RESOLUTION NO. 77
2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SAN JACINTO REQUESTING AN EXTENSION OF TIME IN
3i WHICH TO COMPLETE ANNEXATION PROCEEDINGS OF THAT
CERTAIN TERRITORY KNOWN AS "ANNEXATION NO. 9`"
5C WHEREAS, the Local Agency Formation Commission of Riverside
6 ) County approved the proposal to annex that certain territory to

the City of San Jacinto designated as "Annexation Number 9 " at its
i
S regular meeting of January 17, 1968; and
WHEREAS, notice of Intention to Circulate the Petition to
1U annex said territory was duly published and circulated as required
3-1 by law, the City Council of the City of San Jacinto having previous
12 ly consented to the same; and
13 WHEREAS, the said petition containing the signatures of more
14 than twenty-five per cent (25%) of the registered voters residing
15 within the territory proposed to be annexed was duly filed within
16 the time required by law with the City Clerk of the City of San
17 Jacinto on or about September �L 1968; and
18 WHEREAS, the said City Council by its resolution No.
19 declared its intention to call a special annexation election and
20 fixed October 8, 1968 at 7 :30 P.M. at the regular meeting place of
21I the City Council of said city as the time and place to hear protest
22 by property owners; within the said territory, causing notice there'-
20 of to be published as required by law; and
24 WHEREAS at said time and place the hearing was continued to

26 additional time in which to file protests ; and

WHEREAS,: the Elections Department, County of Riverside has
28 advised the City of San Jacinto that it will not assist the City E`

of San Jacinto in the conducting of a special election incident !

to the annexation proceedings within forty-five (45) days after
(1 the general election of November 5, 1968; and
32 i; WHEREAS, the City Council of said city determined that the

1i nearest practical date on which to conduct the special election
2 more than forty-five days after the general election would be
3 January 7, 1969; and

41 WHEREAS, the one year period for the completion of the annexa-
5 ) Lion proceedings required by Section 54799.2 of the Government Code
6 ) will run on or about January` 16, 1969, unless an extension of time
7 'I is granted,
8i NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City

9 of San Jacinto sitting in regular session this 8th day of October, `
10 1968 as `follows -
11 1. The Council finds the foregoing facts to be true.
12I 2 . The City Council requests the Local 'Agency Formation' Com
13 mission of Riverside County for an extension of time to complete
1ZL the annexation proceedings of that territory designated as "Annexa-
15 tion No 9 " to expire on June 31, 1969, or for such additional time
16 as the Local Agency Formation Commission shall grant upon applica
17 tion upon good cause being shown.
18 3 . The City 'Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this:
19 resolution and cause a certified copy to be transmitted to the
20 Local Agency Formation commission of Riverside County.
