2 A RESOLUTION OF THECITY COUNCIL., CITY OF SAN
JACINTO PRESCRIBING STANDARDS HOW ALL STREETS,
3 ROADS AND OTHER PUBLIC RIGHTS OF WAY WITHIN
THE JURISDICTIONAL LIMITS OF THE` CITY `OF SAN
4 JACINTO SHALL BE DESIGNATED`

WHEREAS, it has been brought to the attention of the City
Council of the City of San Jacinto that there is at present no
7 ) ascertainable standard by which the designation of public streets a
rights of way, for travel purposes is determined and than many such
13 streets are presently identified as streets avenues :, "roads",
"'way" and other designations; '

AND WHEREAS, the Council desires that the designation of
lO a public right of way in this city ,as a "street" or as "avenue",
1"way", or "road" or by similar designation be established accord-
ing to a common plan,
1 ' AND WHEREAS, it is in the public interest that the designa -
tion of 'streets and other public rights of way be established ac-
13 cording to the general direction of the 'street, and according to its
14i� uninterrupted length and straightness of direction,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
1511 City of San Jacinto, sitting in regular session this 6th day of
16 � February, 1968, as follows :
1 . All roads, streets, and other public rights of way for
17 purposes of travel now existing in the j'ndisdictional limits of the
Cit ,,' Of San Jacinto or that are created and accepted as public
13 rights of way for purposes of travel hereafter or otherwise come
under the jurisdiction of the City of Sara Jacinto by annexation or
19 otherwise are to be designated according to the following standards : 1
20 A. For public rights of way having a length of 1,000 feet,
21 or more and having a generally straight direction, the designation I
'� shall be according to the direction of the right of way as follows :

22 j i4 North-south; rights of ,way shall be called "avenuesl",
ii4 East-west rights of way shall be called "streets"- 1
23I iiio Northwest-southeast, "drives",-
iv. Southwest-northeast, "°roads`",

B. For public rights of way having a length of less Lhan
25 1,000 feet and having a generally straight direction, the designa-
t'on shall be according to the direction of the right of way ;as

2, The foregoing standards are established according to
a diagram illustrating their application, which is incorporated
2 herein by reference and made 'a. part hereof as fully and completely
as if set out at length ;herein, and is designated '"Exhibit AIT.

3 . The Superintendent of Public Works shall apply the
4t forgoing standards in establishing the designations of public rights
of way in this city effective the date of the adoption of this
5 resolution.
6 4 . Exceptions : Exceptions from the standards set forth
herein shall be made only by order of the City Council. ' The street
` ( known as "Camino Las Banos" shall be an exception to these standards
since it bears as part of its name "Camino" and shall have no other
811 designation, The street which has been known as "Ramona Boulevard"
I shall continue to be known by that name and not as Ramona Drive.
ADOPTED AND SIGNED this 6th day of February, 1968 .
