1 ( RESOLUTION NO, 999
2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN 'JACIN-
TO .DECLARING SEPTEMBER. 24-30, 1973 AS TRAFFIC SAFETY WEEK

4 WHEREAS, traffic accidents take an unacceptable toll in human life, injur
5 ) and property damage; and
6 I WHEREAS , traffic accidents will continue to increase in proportion to the
7 ; number of motor vehicles registered, drivers licensed and motor miles traveled;

9 WHEREAS, traffic accidents are caused by driver inattention, discourtesy
70 and loss of self-control ; and
11 ) WHEREAS, accident prevention must start with individual drivers accepting
12 their responsibility to drive attentively and defensively,
13 NOW, THEREFORE, BE .IT RESOLVED, the City Council of the City of San Jacin
14 to hereby declares September 24-30 as Traffic Safety Week and requests that
15 every citizen rededicate himself to driving, walking and bicycling safely.
