2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN JACINTO, A
CALIFORNIA MUNICIPALITY; URGING PASSAGE OF
3 ASSEMBLY BILL 594 "RELATING TO RESTRICTION
OF USE OF NON RETURNABLE BEVERAGE CONTAINERS.

WHEREAS -

A. Assembly Bill_594 has been introduced to restrict the sale
6 of beverages in the state of California in non returnable, non de-
posit containers ;'

B. The mandatory use of returnable, deposit containers 'would
not only reduce the clutter to the countryside but would also pro-
vide large savings in cost to the local agencies to dispose of
9 beverage containers and would reduce the volume of refuse now haul-
ed to rapidly filling landfills .

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council> of the
11 City of San 'Jacinto, sitting in regular session this 8th day of
August, 1973, as follows :

1.' This council urges the passage of Assembly Bill 594.

2 .- The City Clerk is instructed to certify to the adoption
14 hereof and to transmit copies to The Honorable Craig Biddle, The
Honorable Walter Ingalls and the League to Improve Our Valley
15 Environment .
