2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN
JACINTO CREATING A SENIOR CITIZENS ADVISORYCOMMISSION

4 WHEREAS , a significant portion of the population of the City of San Jacin-
5 to is composed of senior citizens ; and
6 WHEREAS , the City Council of the City of San Jacinto desires to become
7 aware of the problems of the senior citizens and to attempt to alleviate some of
8 those problems; and
9 1 WHEREAS , the City Council of the City of San Jacinto believes it to be in
10 the best interests 'of the senior citizens of the City of San Jacinto to create
11 a commission of senior citizens to advise and consult with the City Council re-
12 ; garding local senior citizen problems and to inform the City Council of local ,
13 state and federal programs to alleviate those problems , j
14 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED as follows by the City Council of the City
15 of San Jacinto-,
16 Section 1 . There is hereby created a Senior Citizens Advisory Commission
17 of the City of San Jacinto.
18 Section 2. Said Senior Citizens Advisory Commission shall consist of five
19 I (5) members who shall be appointed by the Mayor with the consent of the City
20 Council . Three of the members of the first Commission thus appointed shall have
21 terms of two years , the remaining two members of said original Commission and all
22 subsequent Commission members shall have terms of one (1 ) year,
23 Section 3. The purpose and function of said Commission is to advise and
24 consult with the City Council concerning the problems of senior citizen residents
25 of the City of San Jacinto and to investigate and propose City participation in
26 local , state and federal programs to alleviate those problems.
27 MOVED, PASSED AND ADOPTED this ' day of 1972.
