A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
SAN JACINTO, CALIFORNIA RE APPORTION-
MENT AND EXPENDITURE OF GAS TAX FUNDS
2 WHEREAS the majority of the population in the State resides in the thirteen
southern counties ; and
WHEREAS the majority of the registered vehicles are also in these counties;
4 and
5 WHEREAS in recent years allocations of gas tax funds to cities and counties
, have incr,---ased and administrative acid engineering requirements and restrictions im
61ipcsed by the State have been modified; and
7 WHEREAS further modifications are desirable authorizing cities and countiesi,
l, to utilize gas tax -funds on non-select system streets on a fifty-fifty matching I
8 fund basis from nori-gas tax sources ;
9 NOW, THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of San Jaci-1111111
to, California , that legislation be introduced to revise the Mayo-Breed formula
10 111provide that sixty percent of the State gas tax funds be returned to the thirteei
11 isouthern counties instead of the presently existing formula of fifty percent, anc
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that legislation be introduced which would permit
12 � cities to utilize gas tax funds on non-select system streets , providing they match

!State gas tax funds on a fifty-fifty basis from non-gas tax sources; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the 1
14 cities of Riverside County and the Citrus Belt Division of the League of Californid I
Cities , urging their support.
