2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SAN JACINTO APPROVING DESIGNATION OF SOLID
3 WASTE MANAGEMENT AGENCY FOR RIVERSIDE COUNTY
4 WHEREAS, the County of Riverside and its incorporated cities are required by
Section 66796 of the Government Code to designate an enforcement agency to carry
5 out the provisions of the Z'Berg-Kapiloff Solid Waste Control Act of 1976; and
6 WHEREAS, such enforcement agency shall possess the required capabilities in
environmental health and solid waste management to implement the Z'Berg-Kapiloff
7 Solid Waste Control Act of 1976 and the regulations and ordinances that have been
and will be adopted pursuant thereto; and

WHEREAS, such enforcement agency shall be given sufficient personnel and an
9 adequate budget to carry out the enforcement program specified by law; and
10 WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of the County of Riverside adopted Resolu-
tion No. 77-165 designating the Solid Waste Management Enforcement Agency for
11 Riverside County as the enforcement agency for the County and all the cities con-
tained within the County; and

WHEREAS, such designation is subject to the approval by a majority of the
1 3 cities within the County which contain a majority of the population of the in-
corporated area of the County

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of San Jacint
15 that it hereby approves the designation of the Solid Waste Management Enforce-
ment Agency for Riverside County by the Board of Supervisors of the County of
16 Riverside as the enforcement agency for the County and all the cities contained
within the County pursuant to Subsection (a) (1 ) of Section 66796 of the Govern-
17 ment Code.
18 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that three certified copies of this resolution be
forwarded to the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors of the County of Riverside.
