2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN
JACINTO, A CALIFORNIA MUNICIPALITY, OPPOSING A SPLIT
3 OF RIVERSIDE COUNTY AND FORMATION OF A NEW COUNTY
4 WHEREAS , it has been proposed by a select group that the County of River-
5 side be divided and a new county formed; and
6 WHEREAS , it has been determined that most communities within the county
7 have not been consulted concerning the proposed division nor proposed boundaries
8 and
9 WHEREAS , such a division and studies of feasibility would be most costly
10 to the taxpayers of Riverside County and local communities within the County, and
11 WHEREAS , the formation of a new county would not be advantageous to the
12 people nor to planned development and growth,
13 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of San
141 Jacinto does hereby oppose any further proposals for said division of the County
15 of Riverside, California.
16 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this resolution be sent to City' Coun
17 cils and key organizations calling for a firm stand of opposition to any divi-
18 sions and formations of a new county brought on by a split of Riverside County
19 or any part thereof.
20 MOVED, PASSED AND ADOPTED this 18th day of January 1977 .
