2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN JACINTO, A CALIFORNIA
MUNICIPALITY, SUBMITTING A CLAIM ON GRANT MONEY AVAIL-
3 ABLE PURSUANT TO SB 325, ARTICLE 4, FOR THE PRIMARY
PURPOSE OF CONTINUING .AND EXPANDING THE EXISTING PUB-
4 LIC TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM IN THE CITY OF SAN JACINTO
5 WHEREAS, the City of San Jacinto is operating a minibus transportation
6 system for the benefit of the multitude of citizens without the normal means
71 of vehicular transportation in and outside the corporate limits of the City of
8ISan Jacinto; and
g �I WHEREAS, the operation of said minibus public transportation system in its
10 linitial period last year provided a very necessary service to many of the citi-
I
11 lzens in San Jacinto; and
12� WHEREAS, a critical part of the public transportation system costs were
I
13 provided through the grant pursuant to SB 325 Article 4; and
14 WHEREAS; the City Council of the City of San Jacinto realizing it cannot
15 , generate sufficient revenue through local taxation to meet all the costs of the
16 minibus public transportation system,, and
17 WHEREAS, in addition to the local transportation system the need for inter-
18 city transportation is part of the present transportation problems of this com-
19 munity; and
20 WHEREAS, in the very near future a joint powers agreement with Riverside
21 County and several Western Riverside County sister cities is on the verge of
22 being consummated; and
23 WHEREAS , pursuant to SB 325 Article 4 the City of San Jacinto is entitled
24 to a sum of grant money equalling $41 ,040 for support and development of the
25 public transportation system in the City of San Jacinto.
26 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY the City Council of the City of San
27 IJacinto sitting in regular session this 2Oth day of May, 1975 that the Southern
28 ! California Association of Governments is hereby requested to accept and process
20, the claim of $41 ,040 pursuant to SB 325, Article 4 and deliver said amount to
30 Ithe City of San Jacinto so it may be used for the purposes detailed above.
31 MOVED, PASSED AND ADOPTED this 2Oth day of May 1975.
