1 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN JA.CINTO, A CALIFORNIA
MUNICIPALITY , REQUESTING TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM PLANNING

WHEREAS , there exists a need for public transportation service within the

San Jacinto Valley; and
41 WHEREAS, such service should provide connections to other communities in

the San Jacinto Valley and Sun City area; and

WHEREAS, the Five-Year Transit Development Program for the urban portion
7
of Riverside County prepared by the firm of Alan M. Voorhees & Associates pro-
8
vides definitive detail on and indicates the financial feasibility of such pub-
9
lic transportation service;: and

WHEREAS, the City of Hemet and the community of Sun City have indicated
11
an interest in the cooperative olanning of such public transportation service in
12 1
conjunction with the unincorporated areas of Riverside County;
13
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of San Jacinto does support
14
and approve the need for definitive planning of such an inter-agency transporta-
15
tion service, and requests that the Board of Supervisors undertake active review
16
and planning of this proposal with the City of Hemet, City of San Jacinto and
17
community of Sun City preparatory to the development of an inter-agency agree-
. 18
ment for the establishment and operation of such a public transportation'service,
19
APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 19th day of November 1974.
