2 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SAN JACINTO ESTABLISHING A FEE FOR LICENSING
3 OF BICYCLES.
4 This resolution is adopted with reference to the following
facts :

A. The state has established a bicycle-tracing program to
6 discourage the theft of bicycles by central registration of all
bicycles and to finance the program has levied a charge on all
7 cities having a bicycle registration ordinance, the fee for which
8 currently amounts to about $1.25 per bicycle.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
9 of San Jacinto sitting in regular adjourned session the 23rd
10 day of March, 1976 , as follows :
1. Pursuant to the provisions of Section 5-12 of the City
11 Code an annual license fee shall be collected by the Police Depart-
ment of this city for all bicycles registered by the department in
12 the amount of $1. 50 per bicycle.
13 2. The duration of a bicycle license shall be for a period of
14 one year commencing January 1, and ending December 31.
3. The proceeds of the license fees shall be deposited in a
15 Bicycle License Fund and shall be expended for the purposes author-
16 ized by the California Vehicle Code.
4. This resolution shall become effective April 1, 1976 .17 -
