2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN JACINTO, A CALIFORNIA
MUNICIPALITY, SUBMITTING A CLAIM ON GRANT MONEY AVAIL-
3 ABLE PURSUANT TO SB 325, ARTICLE 4, FOR THE PRIMARY
PURPOSE OF CONTINUING AND EXPANDING THE EXISTING PUB-
4 LIC TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM IN THE CITY OF SAN JACINTO
5 WHEREAS, the City of San Jacinto is operating a minibus transportation
system for the benefit of the multitude of citizens without the normal means
6 of vehicular transportation in and outside the corporate limits of the City of
San Jacinto; and

WHEREAS, the operation of said minibus public transportation system in its
8 initial period last year provided a very necessary service to many of the citi-
zens in San Jacinto; and

WHEREAS, a critical part of the public transportation system costs were
10 provided through the grant pursuant to SB 325 Article 4; and
11 WHEREAS , the City Council of the City of San Jacinto realizing it cannot
generate sufficient revenue through local taxation to meet all the costs of the
12 minibus public transportation system; and
13 WHEREAS , in addition to the local transportation system the need for inter-
city transportation is part of the present transportation problems of this com-
14 munity; and
15 WHEREAS , in the very near future a joint powers agreement with Riverside
County and several Western Riverside County sister cities is on the verge of
16 being consummated; and
17 WHEREAS, pursuant to SB 325 Article 4 the City of San Jacinto is entitled
to a sum of grant money equalling $45,135 for support and development of the
18 public transportation system in the City of San Jacinto.
19 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY the City Council of the City of San
Jacinto sitting in regular session this 9th day of March 1976 that the Southern
20 California Association of Governments is hereby requested to accept and process
the claim of $45,135 pursuant to SB 325, Article 4 and deliver said amount to
21 the City of San Jacinto so it may be used for the purposes detailed above.
22 MOVED, PASSED AND ADOPTED THIS 9th day of March 1976.
