2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN JACINTO AUTHORIZING THE
OFFICE OF PROCUREMENT, DEPARTMENT OF GENERAL SERVICES
3 OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA TO PURCHASE PERSONAL PROPERTY
ITEMS FOR THE CITY OF SAN JACINTO FROM TIME-TO-TIME.

THIS RESOLUTION IS MADE WITH REFERENCE TO THE FOLLOWING FACTS:

A. The Office of Procurement, Department of General Services, State of
6 California is authorized by law to purchase on behalf of agencies and political
subdivisions of the State of California.

B. Experience has demonstrated that the bargaining power of a centralized
8 purchasing agent results in the purchases of personal property on behalf of said
agencies at substantially lower prices.

C. The City of San Jacinto has from time-to-time authorized the Office of
10 Procurement to purchase in its behalf certain personal property including police
vehicles and other equipment.

U. It woula be to the advantage of the City of San Jacinto to authorize
12 the Office of Procurement to make additional purchases in behalf of the city at
the request of its purchasing agent, the City Manager of said city, without ob-
13 taining specific authority as to each purchase from the City Council .
14 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of San Jacin
15
to sitting in regular adjourned session this 17th day of February 1976
1 . The said City Council does hereby authorize the Office of Procurement
16 Department of General Services of the State of California to purchase for and on
behalf of the City of San Jacinto from time-to-time hereafter until this Council
17 shall direct otherwise by resolution and notifying the Office of Procurement
thereof to purchase various and sundry items of personal property pursuant to
18 Section 14814 of the Government Code.
19 2. The City Manager, H. E. McNabb, is hereby authorized and directed to
sign and deliver all necessary requests and other documents in connection with
20 said purchases for and on behalf of the City of San Jacinto.
21 3. The authority given hereby is limited to purchases of items having an
22 individual value or price of less than FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($5,000.00).
23 MOVED, PASSED AND ADOPTED this 17th day of February 1976
