1 RESOLUTION NO. 1279
2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SAN JACINTO TO THE CALIFORNIA ENERGY COMMISSION

4 WHEREAS, it has come to the attention of the City of San Jacinto that the
5 California Energy Commission staff is forecasting an annual growth of peak
6 electric power demand of 1 .4 percent for Southern California for"the years 1978
7 through 1990; and
g WHEREAS, the City of San Jacinto believes this forecasted rate of growth
"9 to be inconsistent with, and considerably less than, the City's recent growth
10 trends; and
11 WHEREAS, the City of San Jacinto is also concerned that restricting the
12 growth of electrical power can adversely affect present and future economic
13 conditions and could have a severe impact on the general health and safety of
14 the City citizenry.
15 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of San Jacinto hereby requests
16 the California Energy Commission to:
17 1 . Carefully analyze the basis and reasonableness of the Commission staff's
preliminary forecast for electrical power growth within our area; and
is 2. Assure the citizenry of the City of San Jacinto that sufficient energy
19 resources will continue to be available for the balance of this century
to promote commerce and a better standard of living for all concerned.
