A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SAN JACINTO, A CALIFORNIA MUNICIPALITY, REQUEST
3 ING THE REOPENING OF THE SHELL SERVICE STATION .
'4 THIS RESOLUTION IS ADOPTED WITH REFERENCE TO THE FOLLOWING FACTS :
5 WHEREAS, the Shell Oil Company' s service station at the corner of San Jacinto
6 and 7th Street in San Jacinto has been an active, supportive member of our com-
7 munity for over 20 years; and
8 WHEREAS, it has recently been learned that this Shell Station has closed and
9 WHEREAS, the closing of San Jacinto"s only Shell Service Station will seri-
10 ously hurt the many senior citizens of San 'Jacinto who will have to drive five
11 -miles out of their way to obtain Shell gasoline and other automotive service; and
12 WHEREAS, this Shell Service Station has had a profitable operation in its Sanl
13 Jacinto location for the past 20 years; and
14 WHEREAS, the closing of the Shell Service Station in San Jacinto unfortunate-
15 ly coincides witha considerable growth of residents in San Jacinto who could use
16 the services at this Shell Station.
17 NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS RESOLVED that the Shell Oil Company reconsider its
18 closing of the Shell Service Station in San Jacinto.
19 It is requested that the Shell Oil Company work with the Staff of the_City
20 of San Jacinto to !etermine the feasibility of reopening this service station`.
