HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 1223 1 RESOLUTION NO. 1223 2 A RESOLUTION DECLARING THAT PROCEEDINGS HAVE BEEN INITIATED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN JACIN- TO TO .ANNEX TO SAID CITY CERTAIN UNINHABITED TER- RITORY DESCRIBED HEREIN AND DESIGNATED AS ANNEXATION A & NO. 26 AND GIVING NOTICE OF THE PROPOSED ANNEXATION. 5 f BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN JACINTO_ 6 1 . That , pursuant to the provisions of the Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939, proceedings have been initiated by the Council of the City of San Jacinto,i 7 on its own motion, to annex to the City of San Jacinto all that uninhabited ter- ritory situated in the County of Riverside, State of California , hereby desig- 8 nated "Annexation No. 26" and described in "Exhibit A" attached hereto and in- corporated herein by reference. 9 2. That the Council of the City of San Jacinto desires to annex said unin 10 habited territory to the City of San Jacinto for the followinq reasons : 11 (a) The territory is contiguous to the City of San Jacinto and its proposed annexation will contribute to and facilitate i l the orderly gro+•rth and development of both the city and the territory proposed to be annexed; and 13 (b) Tnnexation ,.rill facilitate and contribute to the proper and l ? orderly lay out , design and construction of streets, qutters , side.:alks , sanitary 4er,eFrs and story drainage facilities both 15 within and kdithoUt the territory proposed to be annexed ; and 1 16 � (c) Annexation will provide and facilitate Droner overall plan- ning and zoning of lands and subdivision of lands in said 17 city and in said uninhabited territory in a manner most -con- ducive to the welfare of the peoole and owners of land lo- 18 �, Gated v.ithin said city and within said territory. i' 3 . That the Local Acency Formation Commission of Riverside County , Cali- O Tfornia , in session duly assembled on or about September 20, 1977 did approve Ithe proposed annexation and did approve the boundaries of said "Annexation No. 21 126" as described in "Exhibit A" and as submitted to said Commission by the Coun- oil of the City of San Jacinto except that said Commission reouired minor modifi 22 cations of the description of the parcel to be annexed . 4. That or the `Jth day of August 197B at the hour of 7 :30 p.m. , or as ] 3 ]soon thereafter as the Council may hear them, in the Council Chamhers , 209 East `Hain Street, City of San Jacinto, is hereby fixed as the time and place when and where any person ouninq real property within the uninhabited territory described 2 ,and proposed to be annexed to the City of San Jacinto , and having any objections Ito the proposed annexation, may appear before the Council of the City of San ",Jacinto and show cause v,,hy such un1naFhited territory should not be so annexed 26i', to said City of San Jacinto. The City Clergy: of the City of San Jacinto is hereby authorized and di-1 50 ' rected to cause a copy of this resolution to be publishers at least -Wise , but 31 not oftener than once a ,reek, in the Valley Recister, a having been ad- ' Judicated to be of general circulation published in the City of San Jacinto, the 32 lcity to 4.rhich it is proposed to annex the aforesaid territory, and also in the �1 i 1 Daily Enterprise , a newspaper of general circulation published outside the Citv 2 of San Jacinto , but in the County of Rivet-side, State of California, the county in which is located the territory prb-posed to be annexed to the City of San Jacinto, said publication to be complete at least twenty (20) days prior to the 3 date set for the hearing. 6. The City Clerk is further authorized and directed to cause written no- tice of such proposed annexation to he tnailed to each Person to whom land with- 5 in the said territory proposed to be annexed is assessed in the last equalized county assessment roll available on the date the aforesaid proceedings were 6 initiated , at the addresses shown on said assessment roll or known to the Clerk , and to any person vJio has filed his name and address and the designation of the 7 land in which be has an interest either Ippal or equitable , with the Clerk , such notice to be given not less than twenty (20) days before the first publi hear- ing upon such proposed annexation. The City Clerk is directed to cause written notice to be given to such other persons who may be legally entitled thereto in the manner required by law, 10 including the Board of Supervisors of Riverside County if said County owns land 11 within said territory.
