2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SAN JACINTO RELATIVE TO NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH MONTH

4 WHEREAS, the California Department of Justice statistics reveal that more
5 than 1 ,000,000 serious crimes occur in California each year; and
6 WHEREAS, it is the duty of all citizens and institutions to assist in pro-
7 tecting themselves and others from crime; and
8 WHEREAS, Neighborhood Watch Programs develop an informed and involved
9 public who help themselves and others avoid becoming crime victims;
10 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of San
11 Jacinto in recognition of the value of the Neighborhood Watch Program joins
12 the California State Legislature in proclaiming the month of April 1982 Neighbor-
13 hood Watch Month.
14 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City administration and Police administra-
15 tion are hereby directed to cooperate and lead the business community, the
16 public and the Chamber of Commerce for the establishment of a Neighborhood Watch
17 Program for the citizens of the City of San Jacinto.
18 MOVED, PASSED AND ADOPTED by the 16th day of March 1982 by the following
19 vote:
20 AYES Councilmen Visser, Rose, Stevens, Divine and Hazeltine
21 NOES: None
