2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SAN JACINTO, CALIFORNIA, URGING THE SUPPORT OF
3 ASSEMBLY BILL 1981 CONCERNING THE SOUTH COAST
QUALITY MANAGEMENT DISTRICT BOARD OF DIRECTORS
4 WHEREAS the South Coast Air Quality Management District is governed by
5 a board consisting of ten (10) members; and
6 WHEREAS one member of said board shall be a member of any city council
in those portions of the Counties of San Bernardino and Riverside included within
7 the south coast district appointed by a committee consisting of the members of
the city selection committees from those portions of the two counties; and
8 WHEREAS it is possible that the aforementioned member may not be a resi-
9 dent of a city located within the South Coast Air Basin; and
10 WHEREAS Assembly Bill 1981 would require said member to be a resident of
a city located within the Basin; and
11 WHEREAS said bill would add a new Section 40420.5 to the Health and
12 Safety Code to read as follows:
13 "40420.5. The member of the south coast district
board appointed pursuant to subdivision (f) of
14 ( Section 40420 shall be a resident of a city lo-
cated within the South Coast Air Basin. "
18 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of San
16 Jacinto hereby goes on record in support of Assembly Bill 1981 and urges the
Legislature to pass said bill and the Governor to sign said bill .
