2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY 'COUNCIL OF THE CITY Or'
SAN JACINTO AMENDING THE JOINT'POWERS AGREEMENT
3 ESTABLISHING'THE RIVERSIDE COUNTY TRANSIT AGENCY
4 WHEREAS, the City of San Jacinto is a party to the Joint Powers Agree-
ment establishing the Riverside Transit Agency, a separate and distinct pub
5 lic-entity, subject to the provisions set forth therein; and
6 WHEREAS, the 'Riverside Transit Agency has requested each 'member 'entity
to consider approving an amendment revising Part 5('g) of said Joint Powers
7 `'Agreement as follows:
8 "5. POWERS AND FUNCTIONS`
9 RTA shall have the common power of the parties to own,
operate and maintain ,a public transit system and, in
10 the exercise ofi the 'power under this agreement ; RTA
is authorized in its own name to:

(g) Accept contributions, grants ,':or loans, or bor-

13 theree€, ,for the purpose of financing the plan-
ning, acquisition, construction, maintenance or
14 operation,of transit facilities. With-the:-un-

WHEREAS, the reason for the proposed amendment to the Joint Powers
17 Agreement is to authorize the Riverside Transit Agency to borrow money in a
timely manner to satisfy its cash flow needs; and

WHEREAS, Paragraph 20 of said Joint Powers Agreement provides that said
19 Joint Powers Agreement may be amended by awritten amendment unanimously ap-
20 proved by the parties.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City; of San
21 Jacinto does hereby approve amending Part 5(g) of the Joint Powers Agreement'
22 creating the Riverside Transit Agency; to read as follows :
"(g) Accept contributions, grants, loans or borrow
23 for the purpose of financing the planning, ac-
quisition, construction, maintenance or-opera-
24 " tion of transit facilities.
25 MOVED, PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular'meeting of the City Council on
the 29th day of May, 1984.
