Home My WebLink AboutResolution - 1737 I RESOLUTION NO. 1737 2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF' THE CITY OF SAN JACINTO ADOPTING WARRANTS FOR THE REQUIREMENTS 3 TO STANDARDIZE THE PLACEMENT OF STOP SIGNS TA71THIN THE CITY LIMITS OF SAN JACINTO. 4 THIS RESOLUTION IS ADOPTED WITH REFERENCE TO THE 5 FOLLOWING FACTS : 6 That regulatory signs inform highway users of 7 traffic laws or regulations and indicate the 8 applicability of legal requirements that would not otherwise be apparent. 10 11 That because STOP signs cause a substantial 12 inconvenience to motorists, it is the recommendation 13 of the Chief of Police/City Traffic Engineer to adopt 14 "standards" for placement of STOP signs. 15 16 That the State of California policy on STOP sign 17 warrants for both two-way and multiwaY signing as 18 outlined in Exhibits A and B . be adopted as the 19 requirements for the placement of STOP signs. 20 21 NOW THEREFORE, BE IT R.ESOLVEDr by the City Council of 22 the City of San Jacinto, in regular session , this 19th 23 day of January , 1988 as follows: 24 25 1 . Council concurs with the finding of fact. 26 2 . Prior to the placement of any STOP sign within 27 the City of San Jacinto , an engineering study 28 shall determine if the warrants have been met for 29 placement of stop signs. 30 3 . The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of 31 this Resolution.
