2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN JACINTO
CALIFORNIA, RECITING THE FACT OF THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION
3 HELD IN SAID CITY ON NOVEMBER 8, 1988, DECLARING THE RESULT
THEREOF AND SUCH OTHER MATTERS AS ARE PROVIDED BY LAW

WHEREAS, a regular general municipal election was held and conducted in
5 the City of San Jacinto, California, on Tuesday, November 8, 1988 as required
by law; and

WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 1758, adopted the 21st day of June
7 1988, the election was consolidated with any other election being held in the
same territory with the same voters and to be held on the same date, and the
8 Registrar of Voters canvassed the returns of said election and has certified
the results to this City Council , said results are received, attached and
g made a part hereof as Exhibit "A"; and
10 WHEREAS, notice of said election was duly and regularly given in time,
form and manner as provided by law; and that in all respects said election
11 was held and conducted and the votes cast thereat, received and canvassed and
the returns made and declared in time, form and manner as required by the pro-
12 visions of the Elections Code of the State of California.
13 NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN JACINTO DOES HEREBY
RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:

Section 1 . That there were twelve votino Drecincts established for the
15 purpose of holding said election consisting of the regular election precincts
in said City as established for the holding of State and County elections.

Section 2. That said regular general municipal election was held for the
17 purpose of electing the following officers of said City as required by laws
relating to cities in the State of California to wit:

2 Members of the City Council of said City for a full term of 4 years

Section 3 . That the whole number of votes cast in said City was

Section 4. That the names of persons voted for at said election for
21 members of the City Council of said City are as follows :
22 R. J. Stevens Francis R. Boykin
Wayne J. Stuart Max Perry
23 Marcel Olivas Clifford E. Rose Sr.
241 Section 5. That the following measure was submitted to the electors of
said City, to wit: Shall the offices of City Clerk and City Treasurer be
25 appointive by the Council .
26 Section 6. The City Council does declare and determine that:
27 Francis R. Boykin was elected as a Member of the City Council
of said City for the full term of four years.
28 Clifford E. Rose, Sr. was elected as a Member of the City Council
29 of said City for the full term of four years,
30 That as a result of said election, a majority of the qualified voters
voting on said measure relating to appointment of the City Clerk and City
31 Treasurer did not vote in favor thereof, and that said proposition was not
carried and shall not be deemed adopted and ratified.

I Section 7. The City Clerk shall enter on the records of the City Council
of said City a statement of the result of said election showing:

(1 ) The whole number of votes cast in the City;

(2) The names of the persons voted for;
4
(3) The measures voted upon;
5
(4) For what office each person was voted for;
6
(5) The number of votes given at each precinct to each person, and for
7 and against each measure.
8 (6) The number of votes given in the City to each person, and for and
against each measure.

Section 8. That the City Clerk shall immediately make and deliver to eac
10 of such persons so elected a Certificate of Election signed by the City Clerk
and duly authenticated; that the City Clerk shall also administer to each
11 person elected the Oath of Office prescribed in the State Constitution of
the State of California and shall have them subscribe thereto and file the
12 same in the office of the City Clerk. Whereupon, each and all of said persons
so elected shall be inducted into the respective office to which they have
13 been elected.
14 Section 9. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption
of this Resolution; shall enter the same in the book of original Resolutions
15 of said City; and shall make a minute of passage and adoption thereof in the
records of the proceedings of the City Council of said City, in the minutes
16 of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.
