A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SAN JACINTO, CALIFORNIA, SUPPORTING
THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A LAW SCHOOL AT THE
UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA AT RIVERSIDE
WHEREAS, the University of California has traditionally been
a leader in providing education for professional persons in the
Sate of California; and
WHEREAS, there is a current need for a publicly funded law
school in Southern California to augment the existing four law
schools of the University system; and
WHEREAS, the University of California at Riverside provides
the best location for a law school because of its appeal to under-
represented students and students coming from a lower socioeconomic
segment of society, and
WHEREAS, the University of California can logically
accorwmaodate a new law school; and
Wti REAs there is strong community support for the law school,
which is an _ rportant ingredient to the success of such a school .
NO+IJ, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the
City of San Jacinto respectfully urges University of California
President and the Regents of the University of California to take
all steps necessary for the establishment of a law school at the
University of California at Riverside.
