A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SAN JACINTO, CALIFORNIA FAVORING THE POTRERO
CREEK RESERVOIR ALTERNATIVE AS THE SITE OF THE
PROPOSED EASTSIDE RESERVOIR PROJECT
THIS RESOLUTION IS ADOPTED WITH REFERENCE TO THE FOLLOWING FACTS:
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Water District of Southern
California has proposed the construction of one of three reservoir
alternatives in Western Riverside County near the junction of the
Colorado River Aqueduct, the San Diego Canal and the State Water
Project East Branch Aqueduct; and,
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Water District has prepared a draft
environmental impact report comparing three alternative sites
(Domenigoni Valley, Potrero Creek and Domenigoni Valley/`.'ail Lake)
and a no-project alternative; and,
WHEREAS , the draft environmental impact report favored the
Domenigoni Valley Reservoir site for reasons of least impact on
biological resources, cultural and paleontological resources, water
quality and operational efficiency; and,
WHEREAS, the Potrero Creek site was rated second on the basis
of least capitol cost and most positive social impact; and
WHEREAS, the Domenigoni site will cost $247 , 562 , 000 more than
the Potrero Creek site, and will displace more than 200 people now
living in the Domenigoni Valley.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN JACINTO,
CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS
FOLLOWS:
1. That the above recitals are all true and correct.
2 . That the City of San Jacinto favors the Potrero Reservoir
site alternative and asks that the Metropolitan Water_
District re-weigh the thirty-nine factors used to compare
the alternative sites by giving greater weight to capitol
cost, displacement of residents, recreational uses and
traffic impacts.

SECTION 1: That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage
and adoption of this Resolution, shall cause the same to be entered
among the original resolutions of the City Council of said City and
shall make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the
records of the proceedings of the City Council of said City in the
minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.
