A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN JACINTO UPDATING THE DOG
LICENSE FEE/ADMINISTRATIVE FINE SCHEDULE AND THE STATE
MANDATED UNALTERED ANIMAL IMPOUND FEE
WHEREAS, the City of San Jacinto seeks to ensure appropriate cost recovery
for services provided; and
WHEREAS, the City of San Jacinto has seen a decline in dog licensing and has
determined that the current dog license fee schedule is insufficient to cover current and
projected costs; and
WHEREAS, a decline in compliance with dog licensing is detrimental to the
health of pets, stray animals, and human population; and
WHEREAS, imposing an administrative penalty on owners/custodians of
unaltered dogs will encourage pet owners to alter their dogs; and
WHEREAS, the license fees adopted hereby do not exceed the reasonably
estimated cost of providing the animal licensing services provided; and
WHEREAS, updating the impound fee schedule to include the State mandated
unaltered animal fine and a processing service fee.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN JACINTO,
CALIFORNIA:
SECTION 1. That the updated dog license fee/administrative fine, unaltered animal
impound fine and service fees, as set forth in Exhibit A to this Resolution, is hereby
adopted.
SECTION 2. This Resolution shall become effective on the date on which it is adopted.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED, at a regular meeting of the City Council
on the 6th day of January, 2015, by the following vote:
Ayes: Bartel, Ledezma, Miller, Ruiz
Nays: None
Absent: Kotyuk
Abstain: None
