A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SAN JACINTO, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING ACCEPTANCE
OF HIGHWAY SAFETY IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM (HSIP)
CYCLE 6 FUNDS THROUGH THE CALTRANS DISTRICT
LOCAL ASSISTANCE OFFICE FOR A CITY OF SAN JACINTO
BICYCLE AND PEDESTRIAN SAFETY IMPROVEMENT
PROJECT
WHEREAS, $150 million of HSIP program funding for transportation safety projects
was available to jurisdictions in the State of California from the Fiscal Year 2013-2014
budget; and
WHEREAS, the City of San Jacinto has been awarded $225,000 HSIP Grant funding
for a $250,000 project to improve safety for motorists, bicycles and pedestrians; and
WHEREAS, the City of San Jacinto authorizes the City Manager to accept the
$225,000 HSIP grant funds and commit 10 percent matching funds in the amount of $25,000
from the City Traffic Safety Fund (Fund 024) for bicycle and pedestrian safety improvements
and programs.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of San Jacinto agrees to
complete the proposed grant project within a timely manner and in compliance HSIP
Guidelines.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the San Jacinto City Council authorizes the City
Manager, and/or designee to execute the project programming, implementation and project
delivery documents.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council on
the 3`d day of December, 2013 by the following vote:
AYES: Bartel, Kotyuk, Miller, Ruiz, Ledezma
