A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN
JACINTO, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL OF
AN APPLICATION FOR HIGHWAY SAFETY IMPROVEMENT
PROGRAM (HSIP) CYCLE 6 FUNDS THROUGH THE
CALTRANS DISTRICT LOCAL ASSISTANCE OFFICE FOR A
CITY OF SAN JACINTO BICYCLE AND PEDESTRIAN SAFETY
IMPROVEMENT PROJECT
WHEREAS, $1.5 Million of HSIP program funding for transportation safety projects is
available to jurisdictions in the State of California from Fiscal Year 2013-2014; and
WHEREAS, City of San Jacinto wishes to receive HSIP Grant funding to improve safety
for motorists, bicycles and pedestrians; and
WHEREAS, City of San Jacinto agrees to complete the proposed grant project within a
timely manner and in compliance HSIP Guidelines.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of San Jacinto
authorizes the submittal of an application for HSIP funding for bicycle and pedestrian safety
improvements and programs.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that if a grant award is made to fund bicycle and
pedestrian safety improvements, the San Jacinto City Council commits to providing 10% of
matching funds and authorizes the City Manager, or designee, to accept the grant funds,
execute and complete the project with no exceptions.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council on the
18th day of June, 2013 by the following vote:
AYES: Kotyuk, Ledezma, Miller, Ruiz, Bartel
