A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN
JACINTO RENAMING POTTER ROAD AS LYON AVENUE FROM
DE ANZA DRIVE TO RECORD ROAD
WHEREAS, Section 5026 of the California Streets & Highways Code authorizes
the legislative body of a city to change the name of any street, boulevard, park or place
by adopting a resolution evidencing such name change; and
WHEREAS, the City of San Jacinto ("City") has policies and procedures for the
naming of new streets proposed in the community; and
WHEREAS, Potter Road, from De Anza Drive to Record Road, is a public right-
of-way that has occupied homes and businesses; and
WHEREAS, there have been recent improvements and signalization at the
intersection of Ramona Expressway and Potter Road which include road signs
renaming Potter Road to Lyon Avenue; and
WHEREAS, Lyon Avenue was recently extended and re-aligned to connect with
Potter Road north of De Anza Drive.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED determined and ordered by the City
Council of the City of San Jacinto:
SECTION 1. The City Council finds and declares as follows:
A. Renaming of Potter Road to Lyon Avenue is consistent with the provisions
of the Streets and Highways Code for renaming streets; and
B. Renaming of Potter Road to Lyon Avenue is hereby approved.
SECTION 2: The City Clerk is directed to certify the passage and adoption of
this Resolution; enter same in the book of original Resolutions; and make a
Minute of its adoption in the City's records and in the Minutes of the meeting
when it was adopted.
SECTION 3: The City Clerk is further directed to forward a certified copy of this
Resolution to the clerk of the Riverside County Board of Supervisors and to the
Riverside County Surveyor.

SECTION 4: This Resolution will become effective immediately upon adoption
and will remain effective unless repealed or superseded.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED, this 7th day of May, 2009, by the
following vote:
