A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN JACINTO,
CALIFORNIA, AMENDING ITS SCHEDULE FOR RETENTION /
DESTRUCTION OF OBSOLETE BUILDING RECORDS OF THE CITY
WHEREAS, Section 34090 of the California Government Code provides that, with the
approval of the City Council and the written consent of the City Attorney, the head of a city
department may destroy any record,document, instrument, book or paper under his/her charge
without making a copy thereof, after the same is no longer required, provided that certain
records are exempt from such destruction; and
WHEREAS, the City Attorney and Staff of the City of San Jacinto have prepared an
amendment to the building records portion of the City's "Records Retention and Destruction
Schedule" for consideration and adoption by the City Council; and
WHEREAS, the proposed amendment complies with the provisions of Section 34090 of
the California Government Code and Health and Safety Code Sections 19850 et seq.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED,determined and ordered bythe City Council of
the City of San Jacinto:
SECTION 1. The City Council hereby amends the City's "Records Retention and
Destruction Schedule," as set forth in Exhibit "A", attached hereto, and incorporated by
reference herein.
SECTION 2. Except as specifically amended hereby, the City's existing Records
Retention and Destruction Policy shall remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution.
APPROVED and ADOPTED this 8"' day of January, 2009 by the following vote:
Ayes: Ayres, Di Memmo, Mansperger, Potts, Stubblefield
Nays: None
Abstain: None
Absent: None
