A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN
JACINTO, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING RESOLUTION NO.99-56
PROVIDING RULES OF PROCEDURE FOR COUNCIL MEETING
AND RELATED FUNCTIONS AND ACTIVITIES, TO AMEND
SECTION 3.1 (b) FOR THE SELECTION OF MAYOR AND VICE
MAYOR
The City Council of the City of San Jacinto, California, does
hereby resolve and adopt the following amendment to its Rules of
Procedure:
Section 3. Section 3.1, Presiding Officer (b) of Resolution No.
99-56, is amended as follows:
3.1 PRESIDING OFFICER
3.1 (b) Delete current section of Resolution 99-56
3.1 (b) New section to read as follows:
The Council shall in even-numbered years reorganize
itself, selecting the Mayor and Vice Mayor from its members,
at the first regular meeting following the official canvass of
results of the election, but, no later than the fourth Tuesday
following the date of said general and municipal election.
In odd numbered years, at the first meeting in
December the Council shall choose one of its members as
Mayor and another of its members as Vice Mayor.
Notwithstanding the reorganization following the
general municipal election, the Council may meet at any
regularly scheduled evening meeting of the City Council to
choose a Mayor or Vice Mayor to serve the remainder of a
current term.
