HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 2653 STATE OF CALIFORNIA ) RESOLUTION NO. 2653 COUNTY OF RIVERSIDE)ss CITY OF SAN JACINTO ) A RESOLUTION OF APPLICATION BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN JACINTO, CALIFORNIA, REQUESTING THE LOCAL AGENCY FORMATION COMMISSION TO TAKE PROCEEDINGS FOR THE CITY OF SAN JACINTO ANNEX- ATION NO. 77 AND CONCURRENT DETACHMENT FROM THE RIVERSIDE COUNTY WASTE RESOURCE MANAGEMENT DISTRICT WHEREAS, the City of San Jacinto desires to initiate a proposal pursuant to the Cortese-Knox-Hertzberg Local Government Reorganization Act of 2000, commencing with Section 56000 of the California Government Code, for the annexation of certain properties as described in attached Exhibit "A"; and WHEREAS, notice of intent to adopt this resolution of application has not been given to the commission each interested and each subject agency at least 20 days prior top the adoption of this resolution; and WHEREAS, the territory proposed to be annexed is uninhabited, and a ~" description of the boundaries of the territory is set forth in Exhibit "A" attached hereto and by this reference incorporated herein, and WHEREAS, this proposal is consistent with the sphere of influence of the city; and WHEREAS, the reasons for this annexation are as follows: A. The applicants own several adjacent parcels of land that lie within the City limits as well as these two parcels and would like them all to be within one jurisdiction. B. The parcels are within the City's sphere of influence and will be prezoned by the City. C. The addition of these two parcels creates a more viable project by eliminating a very narrow neck between the northerly and southerly parcels comprising this ownership. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Jacinto hereby approves and adopts this Resolution of Application and the Local Agency Formation Commission of Riverside County is hereby requested to take �" proceedings for the annexation of territory as described in Exhibit "A", in the manner provided by the Cortese-Knox-Hertzberg Local Government Reorganization Act of 2000.
